Why We Homeschool
Our homeschool journey began when my eldest daughter, who was then turning 7, graduated from PREP. The graduation was held at a church, which would be holding a homeschooling seminar two weeks after. At that time, I was so overwhelmed by the sky-rocketing tuition fees of private schools around our village. I was looking for alternatives, homeschooling caught my attention so I attended the seminar. I was fascinated by what I've discovered and from then on, I started homeschooling my 3 daughters age 7, 5 and 2.
Different families homeschool for different reasons. Our main reason is to give our children the best education at a price we can afford. We can't afford to send them to a private school , and the nearest public school is far from where we used to live. We were convinced that it's the best education that we can give our children.
What are the other reasons?
We homeschool because we can. We have the time, knowledge and resources. We can homeschool our children because we have the passion and energy to give them the education they deserve. We do this because we want them to spend their childhood with us, while they're still young. We have more time to study, there's no need to travel to and from school. We can take it slow, or learn lessons at their own pace. Lastly, its fun to homeschool. We enjoy the freedom to choose the curriculum, more time to pursue their passion and interests, and develop their God given gifts.
