For their film viewing assignment, I asked the kids to write a short essay about the early history of Rome. Rome was founded by two twin brothers named Romulus and Remus in 753 A.D..The Romans invented many things. They had many soldiers. For entertainment they watched gladiators. It soon became a large empire . Romulus and Remus were raised and rescued by a female wolf. They created a city nearby the place the wolf saved them. The brothers quarreled about who would be king so they asked the priests to decide. They placed the brothers on a hill and when the birds flew over Romulus they said he would be king. Remus wanted himself to be king and attacked his brother and was killed, so Romulus became the first king of rome. They made plenty of inventions. They invented cement. They also created the sewers. Tiny Land Once there was a little girl who lived in a house on Sunny St. Her name was Anna. It was sunny at first but then it became a dark and rainy. Anna and her friends then went inside.
