Tiny Land



Once there was a little girl who lived in a house on Sunny St. Her name was Anna. It was sunny at first but then it became a dark and rainy. Anna and her friends then went inside.

 They couldn't play outside games so they pretended it was a bright and sunny morning. Anna carried her little sister named Carly to the living room with her friends Penny and Tina. Anna stayed in the living room with her friends and had fun.

 It was soon midnight so they fell asleep.

 When they woke up they were in a strange place and they noticed that they became tiny.

  “Oh no!” said Tina. “We don't know how to go home!”

 They were still looking around and just like in the real world, it began to rain so they looked for shelter and found a house. “Hello?” said Penny. A girl came out.

 “Sorry, have you been in the rain for a long time?” she asked. “Here, would you like some cookies?” the girl asked.

 Carly ate them all quickly.

 Anna then said, “Oh sorry about that Carly's really hungry. We only want to get back home.”

 “Okay follow me, where do you live?” asked the girl. “We live in Sunny St.” Anna answered. “Okay, sit on this chair and put on these helmets. I will then put my formula on them. They're magical and they would teleport you back home.

My Younger Siblings

       My younger siblings are alike and different in many ways.Ally is my first sister. She was born on July 25 2004. She is 8 years old. She has long hair and a funny smile. Her favorite color is pink. We like to play together.

      Alithea Rae is my second sister. She was born on Jan.31, 2007. She is six years old. Her favorite color is pink, but she also likes the color pink. Her nickname is Thea. Sometimes she annoys me but most of the times were friends. 


    Alex is my only brother. He was born on February 8, 2010. He 
is just 3 years old. He knows a few words like: sleep, doll, hungry, hit, bit, baby, ball, play, book, watch, and monkey, draw, elephant, bird, cat, broken and fix. He likes to play with us
    

    Hannah is the youngest. She was born on June 3 2012. She has curly hair. She likes to play with combs. Sometimes she makes funny sounds. She is a cute baby. One thing I like about her is if you smile at her she will smile back. These are all my sisters and my only brother. They are all special in there own way.

Our Guinea Pigs

       We have 3 guinea pigs. We named one Rusty because it‘s white, orange and black. It is small and cute but always smelly. The other guinea pigs are Hammy and Nina. Hammy is as big and furry as Nina. Hammy is white, orange and brown. Nina is also white, orange and black, like Rusty. They like to eat leaves, vines and fresh grass. 

    When they`re hungry, they make a loud squeaking sound. They eat a lot so we feed them three to four times a day. We get their food from the garden. We like to feed them. We like them very much. We hope that they live long.

My Basil Plant

      Today we planted a basil seed. This is how we  did it: First we looked for a coke bottle. Next we cut it into two. Then we cut some rags to be used as a wick.  Third we put soil into the  top part of the plastic bottle. We also added compost to  the    soil.

Fully Grown Basil Plant



      After that we got seeds from a fully grown basil plant, scattered it on top of the soil and watered it. Lastly,  we half-filled the bottom part of the bottle with water and placed the the top part in it. We put it near our house.

      I had a lot of fun planting.

Our Homeschool Beginning

It was in the mid-year of 2009 when we started homeschooling. I used the SSRW curriculum to teach my children how to read and write. I added some textbooks I bought from a local bookstore for teaching them other subjects such as maths and science. I was an independent homeschooler then, so most of the materials I used were mostly low cost if not free. There are a wide variety of homeschool resource sites I visit to get printables, teaching aids, classroom activities, videos, e-books' games and everything I need in homeschooling my 3 daughters. We used a vacant room in my mother in laws house as our very first classroom. We had 3 set of tables and chairs for each child, an old desktop PC and a white board. We had a 5 feet, 4 layer bookshelf full of children's books that served as our library. I posted the letters of the alphabet on the wall. We had a mini-bullettin board where they could hang their best works. It was a small room but it served its purpose.

Les Miserables Report

The movie was based on Victor Hugo's novel.  The story takes place in France in the early 1800s.  I like it because it has a good story and interesting characters. It also gave me an idea of what it was like for the poor people of France back then.  Some of the characters are Jean Valjean, Fantine, Cosette, Marius, the Thenardiers and Javert. Jean Valjean used to be a prisoner, he broke his parole and changed his name and became the mayor of a town. Fantine worked in one of his factories. Fantine had a daughter named Cosette whom she had left in the care of the Thenardiers until she could send for her. She was paying them to look after Cosette, but she did not know they were using her as a maid. One day she was fired by the foreman and she became very poor. After that, she got into a fight with one man and Javert a policeman wanted to arrest her. Jean Valjean stopped him and took Fantine to a doctor when she became ill. Fantine got worse and died , but  Jean promised...
