Book Report on Beyonders Series
The Beyonders Trilogy was written by Brandon Mull. The story is about Jason and Rachel’s quest to overthrow the evil emperor Maldor in Lyrian, another world .On their journey they meet many other people who become part of the story on the next books. One of them is Ned or Nedwin. This is one of my favorite series.
In book one, A World without Heroes, Jason Walker is brought to Lyrian through a hippo and accidentally becomes the enemy of a wicked and powerful emperor by learning apart of a magic word which could destroy him. Then he meets Rachel a girl from our world. When the Blind King whose real name is Galloran tells him that he can only survive by searching for more parts of the Word, Rachel joins him and their adventure begins. When he first arrived at Lyrian he just wanted to go home, but in the end he is forced to go back even though he did not want to because he learned something very important. I like the part when Jason asked Rachel ‘How do you skip grades when you‘re homeschooled? Mom just decides to shorten her teaching career?’.
When Jason found a way back to Lyrian he sent Tark to deliver his message to the Blind King. He barely escaped being eaten by giants, and then followed by a creepy dark creature that looks like a human called a lurker that keeps giving him nightmares which leaves him once he entered the city. While that was happening, Rachel discovers her ability to speak Edomic. When Jason reaches the Blind King they make plans to convince the Amar Kabal to march into Felrook, Maldor’s fortress. Rachel found them with help from the Charm Woman. Once they reached the Seven Vales they have a meeting with its leaders. Galloran tried to persuade them to attack Felrook but instead they sent a delegation to the Oracle of Mianamon to tell them what to do. This is my favorite book in the Beyonders Trilogy because I think it has the most adventure.
Chasing the Prophecy is the last book in Beyonders. Jason is completing one quest with Farfalee, Jasher, Corinne, Drake, Aram and the drinlings and Rachel is doing another with Galloran, Ferrin, Tark, Io, Nedwin, Nollin, and Kerick. The oracle said that both quests had to succeed if they were going to win the war. This is the longest book of the three, and I enjoy reading again and again.
‘Beyonders’ is still one of my favorite series. It is also the longest one I’ve read. It's funny and exciting. Beyonders also has many weird and interesting creatures. It is fun to read it because you'd want to know what happens. If you like fantasy and magic, then I think you’ll like it too.
